As a voluntary selfless act, Sadaqah can be performed by anyone to benefit everyone. It’s a voluntary donation that comes from the compassion & kindness of your heart to help others selflessly.
What Is Considered Sadaqah?
Any voluntary donation, out of the goodness of your heart, can be Sadaqah. Be it feeding a vulnerable child or something as simple as providing a glass of water.
The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) stated in a hadîth collected by Imām Muslim:
“Sadaqah extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire”
– (Hadith, Tirmidhi)
